Physiotherapy Week 2026: Free Stroke & Cardiovascular Consultations

Starting this Tuesday, Stellar Physio is marking Physiotherapy Week with a full seven days dedicated to stroke and cardiovascular physiotherapy — and we’re offering free consultations to anyone who wants to understand what it can do for them.

From September 8th through September 14th, 2026, our clinics are opening their doors for one-on-one assessments focused on heart health, blood pressure management, and recovery after stroke, timed to coincide with World Physiotherapy Day on September 8th, whose official global theme this year is cardiovascular disease and stroke.

It’s a fitting focus: these two conditions affect an enormous number of people, and physiotherapy is one of the most under-used tools for managing both.

Why This Year’s Theme Hits Close to Home Every September 8th, physiotherapists around the world use World Physiotherapy Day to highlight a specific area where movement-based rehabilitation changes outcomes. This year’s global theme puts cardiovascular disease and stroke in the spotlight, and for good reason.

Stroke often leaves survivors with weakness, balance problems, or reduced coordination on one side of the body, and the right rehabilitation programme, started early and followed consistently, is one of the biggest factors in how much function a person eventually regains.

Cardiovascular disease, meanwhile, is quietly shaped by daily habits — activity levels, posture, circulation, and how the body responds to exertion — all areas where a physiotherapist can intervene long before or long after a cardiac event. Physiotherapy Week gives us a reason to talk about both openly, rather than waiting until someone is already in crisis.

What a Free Consultation Actually Involves We wanted this week to lower the barrier to finding out where you stand, so every free physiotherapy consultation booked during Physiotherapy Week includes a proper one-on-one assessment with one of our physiotherapists — not a sales pitch, an actual clinical conversation.

That means discussing your medical history, any stroke or cardiac events you or a family member have experienced, current symptoms like fatigue, breathlessness, or reduced mobility, and an honest assessment of whether ongoing physiotherapy would help. If it would, we’ll explain what that looks like; if it wouldn’t, we’ll tell you that too. There’s no obligation to continue with paid treatment afterward — the point of the week is awareness and access, not a funnel.

Who Should Book a Session This week is especially relevant for stroke survivors at any stage of recovery, whether that’s a few weeks post-stroke or several years out and wondering if more progress is still possible. It’s just as relevant for anyone managing high blood pressure, heart disease, or a recent cardiac event, since guided movement plays a real role in cardiac rehabilitation and long-term heart health.

We’re also seeing a lot of interest from family members and caregivers who want to understand how to support a loved one’s recovery at home, and from people with no diagnosis yet who simply have risk factors — a sedentary job, a family history of stroke or heart disease, or ongoing fatigue they can’t explain — and want a professional opinion before anything becomes urgent.

Booking Your Slot Free consultations are available for the full week, September 8th to September 14th, 2026, across our branches, but slots are limited each day since every session is a genuine one-on-one assessment rather than a quick chat.

We’d encourage booking early in the week rather than waiting until Sunday, simply because the earlier slots tend to fill up first. Bring any relevant medical records if you have them — recent blood pressure readings, discharge notes from a hospital stay, or a doctor’s referral — though none of that is required to attend.

Physiotherapy Week only comes around once a year, and this year’s focus on stroke and cardiovascular physiotherapy is a genuine opportunity to get expert input on something that affects millions of people quietly, long before it becomes an emergency. Whether you’re recovering from a stroke, managing your heart health, or simply curious about what physiotherapy could do for you, we’d encourage you to take advantage of the free consultation while it’s available this week.
